"Chocolate" Lyrics (11/11/2010)
This could be the very minute/I'm aware I'm alive
All these places feel like home
With a name I'd never chosen/I can make my first steps
As a child of 25
Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean/I didn't enjoy it at the time
You're the only thing that I love/It scares me more every day
On my knees I think clearer
Goodness knows I saw it coming/Or at least I'll claim I did
But in truth I'm lost for words
*What have I done it's too late for that/What have I become truth is nothing yet*
A simple mistake starts the hardest time/I promise I'll do anything you ask...this time
Inverted Love
That lies fragile
Beneath beliefs
Applauding strife,
Wondrous thoughts explore
If forceful blows,
Grounded in tales and lore,
Would be wrought
Upon this honest life.
If image cast aside
Brings such treatise...
If scaffolds simply move
To their place
Then all is well
With breathed promises?
If love is only whispered
When scaffolds
Stand in place,
How is love
Softly breathed
To those
In pain
With masked face?
If...
"Verses for Statuses" (1/16/2011)
On Facebook,
If I wrote
Verses for statues,
Would you peek
Through your latticed fences
And ask me
If I'm still saved?
I think not.
On Facebook,
If I post
What you
Think I should,
My life is stamped
As clean and good.
Even if
I try to hide,
As long as
I post
Verses for statuses,
My sins
Are safe inside.
Here's where
I see
The irony.
I could be
On a
Killing spree
In the
Darkest
Of night.
But as long as
I'm home
By dawn with
Verses for statuses,
You all will think
I'm all right.
I have my reasons
For not
Posting
Verses for statuses
On Facebook.
But you all
Thought the worst.
You're judging
The show-
Not the reality.
Truth is
You can't
Know me
On Facebook.
To Know
I'm Saved,
You would need
To see me,
Hear me,
Speak to me.
Look at
The illogic,
(which is
really quite
pathetic)
Of judging
Me
From the
Lack of
Verses for statuses
On Facebook.
